1200 Nations of Avalon.
200 of which are player starting locations.
There are 1200 domains with six slots up and down with three in them and about 300 verticals that cover the world
east to west. The idea is players start in only 200 of these and all of them are going to be in a renaissance period
when the game starts in 1725 FE. With market squares that vendors and crafters work out of while the cultures
give the style of clothing and the look of buildings. Gear that the players will be wearing will be a mix of
cultural gear and gear that comes from the adventure zone which is shared across the game. We can only make
so many pieces of gear that has to animations for ten different phonotypes. The ones below are based on historical
peoples. Of the starting location half are based on real cultures and half are fictional whole cloth. We may not be able to
build 600 Domains based on historical cultures with out them sounding a like.
Also we will have a travel to friend from your steam friends list once a month. This will teleport you to the capital city
of the domain they are in. It can be turned off or on in settings.
FE is Founding Era and works out to AD, BFE counts back like BC.
Auroa (891::15000): On the world of Avalon, the empire of Auroa was in year
3728 in the Chinese calendar and year 1 Founding Era.
This empire spread from
the village of Rema like a wave. A young helgoa warrior saves the life of
Alexander Drusia as a young boy.
They form a war band and slowly conquer the
northern lands of Thams, Norge, Eld, Velk, and Karus. The city of Rema is
founded in
27 FE. Slowly the lands around the north are conquered over the next
hundred years. In 801 FE the capital burns to the ground killing the current
emperor and his family, ending the empire of Auroa. The Domain of Auroa is
a republic with a senate of fifty Thrones
and 22 Demesnes ruled by trader
houses to this day.

Tors (499::009): In 538 FE the Remen outpost of Tors was founded in the
mountains of Ire, by 642 FE it is fast developing country in in own right with
22 independent demesnes. The empire is failing due to the politics of governing
such a huge swath of land. In 773 FE Tors declares its independence from Auroa,
being half a world away from the capital of Rema, it takes six months for the
declaration to be read. Once it is read an army sets out from Rema, and since
there are 120 domains between Rema and Tors it takes 120 days or four months
for the army to reach Tors. Sixty percent of veterans are Legionnaires and half
of those veterans. Ten percent are engineers, Ten percent command personnel,
leaving twenty percent conscripts; dirty farmers who barely know how to hold a
spear. They get to the great road that runs west of Tors and runs into a great
wall that has been built across the pass miles long and over a hundred feet
tall. The centurion marches up the portcullis and finds two guards standing
guard at the postern gate. He demands entry in the name of the emperor. The
guards laugh and say David the Drunkard, we don’t pay him any mind. The
centurion in a blind rage cuts both guardsmen down. This leads to the guards in
the tower above dumping boiling oil on the centurion. He shrugs it off and the
engineers bring up siege ladders. The ladders are pushed off and the Reman Army
is left fuming. During the night the Army of Tors shows up and sends people
through the postern gate to recover the two guards’ bodies. The Tors army
launches a dawn attack at routs the Reman Army. This leads to several years of
cold warfare until in 801 FE the Capital of Rema burns to the ground ending the
empire of Auroa. In the year 1208 FE Dominia Cassandra ascends the throne of
Tors. She rules for 80 years and dies childless. The thrones announce a quest
to become the next Domini or Dominia of Tors.
In 1218 FE Byordaeir and Emily join the beta test and swiftly make their way
through the Adventure Ranks and start out on Society Ranks. The quests for
making sir are easily knocked out, and in six months and the first stumbling
block is Esquire which requires questing for an existing sir or dame. Emily
finds a quest first with the house of Usher and through the quest changes her
name from Emily to Emily Usher. Byordaeir finds a quest in the Drakken Hallows
and joins House Vas’Drakken, as Byordaeir Vas’Drakken. This takes another six
months, with the calendar running in real time in 1220 FE Emily and Byordaeir
are raised to esquire. Next, they have the task of becoming an ambassador to
another Domain. Byordaeir travels north to Baroqu just on the other side of the
conflict zone. It takes about two months to get his faction rank up high enough
that he can go back to Tors and apply to become an Ambassador to Baroqu. Emily
travels a bit further away and uses the travel to friend ability to travel to
Kim in the Domain of Norge. About the same time as Byordaeir gets back to Tors
Emily having gotten enough standing to apply to become an Ambassador to Norge,
uses travel to friend to travel to where Byordaeir is in Tors. They approach
the Thane of Trade and are granted the probationary rank of Ambassador.
Byordaeir sets out immediately and Emily comes along to see Baroqu. A month
later Emily uses Travel to Friend to travel back to Norge and start as the Tors
Ambassador. They spend another seventh months and in 1221 FE they have gained
enough standing to trigger the Peerage quest. Byordaeir accepts a quest in the
Capital City to become a Lord Valent of Tors. The quest takes two months
of doing favors for various orders and noble houses, including tracking down a
lost sword that he happened to have found while ranking up the adventure ranks.
In 1222 he raised to Lord Valent along side Emily Usher. Many of the same
NPC gave the quest in the chain for both players. The go back to ranking up
adventure ranks and make 3A and complete the quest to become the commander of
their Orders. Banner Lord requires a NPC controlled demesnes, so Byordaeir
grinds more faction standing with Drakken Hallows and House Vas’Drakken, until
the quest line for control of Drakken Hallows becomes available. The Market
board not being used very much requires him to list and sell a hundred gold
worth of items which his friends buy from him. The rest of the quest line goes
easy and in 1224 FE he is raised to Banner Lord Vas’Drakken of Drakken Hallows.
Emily takes another six months to gain Banner Lady Usher of Arris Mount.
Byordaeir says that is enough and stops grinding faction standing. Emily finds
the quest to become the Dominia of Tors and before the beta ends in 1225 FE,
she is crowned Dominia Emily Usher mòr Caolánvein of Tors.
At launch in 1725 FE, 500 years have passed in which the rulers have been in a
timeless sleep, as vampires rule the Domain of Tors.
